We provide a full range of physical therapy services in our clinic. Our therapists specialize in the treatment of neurologic injuries and conditions. We also accel at recovery after sports and orthopedic injuries, such as shoulder and knee injuries. Scheduled for a surgical joint replacement (total hip and total knee replacement)? We can get you set up for pre-surgical strengthening to improve your pain management and recovery timeline post-surgery.
We accept most Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance plans, United Healthcare, TriCare, ChampVA, and Medicare/Medicaid health plans. We also see patients with Workers Comp and Auto insurance coverage. Some other commercial insurance plans provide out-of-network benefits that can be applied to your visits. As a courtesy to you, our staff will verify your insurance benefits prior to your first visit. If you are covered by a managed care plan, you may have to get a referral from your insurance company before beginning treatment. Those patients who do not have insurance or other coverage for therapy services, will pay for their treatment at each visit.
This varies from patient to patient. Depending on your condition and its severity, you may need as little as one visit or months of care. Your physical therapist will be able to make a recommendation for the length and intensity of your treatment based on your medical history, diagnosis, and the findings from your evaluation.
All of our therapists are Doctors of Physical Therapy. You will be seen by one of our licensed and highly trained physical therapist each visit. Continuity of care is important to us, and every effort is made for your evaluating therapist to provide care during all follow up visits unless otherwise requested.
At your initial evaluation appointment, please bring your driver’s license or identification card, your doctor’s prescription, any applicable insurance referral, and your insurance card.
Please bring any copies of evaluations from specialists or other therapists that would assist the therapist in coordinating care and determining goals of therapy.
Please bring any equipment that you may use such as crutches, walker, wheelchair, braces/splints, or communication device.
Physical therapists are experts in movement and function. While physical therapists do work to correct injuries, a huge part of physical therapy programs is helping prevent injury or loss of movement and achieving balanced muscle function and control. Many physical therapists work with athletes to ensure they are operating at peak performance. Our therapists are also highly skilled in the restoration of function and management of chronic medical conditions. Our goal is to provide patients with the resources they need to take care of themselves and prevent further injuries.
We accept referrals for patients of all ages.
Pending your insurance, we may be able to treat you for up to 21 days without a physician referral. Please call our office at (586) 232-3644 for more information and to schedule an appointment.
Be sure to bring or wear clothing that will be comfortable during exercise and bring any equipment that you normally use such as walkers, canes, braces etc.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the beginning of your first visit to fill out paperwork. Plan to be here for approximately 1 ½ hours for your first visit. Subsequent appointments may last from 45 minutes to 2 or more hours depending on your condition.
Please arrive on time for all of your subsequent visits.
It is not uncommon for flare-ups to occur. If you are experiencing a flare (exacerbation), give us a call. We may recommend that you come back to see us, contact your doctor, or modify your activities or home exercise routine.
